The Almshouse (Sheltered Housing) Accommodation is the heart of our organisation and forms the largest part of our charitable operation. The Charity has provided homes for those who are elderly or infirm throughout the centuries and has developed to remain responsive and relevant to the changing needs of our residents through the years.

From the original provision of accommodation by the monks of St Peter's Abbey at the site alongside the Chapel of St Margaret's on what is now London Road, the Charity has evolved as a sheltered housing provider at four sites across the City of Gloucester with a total of 130 flats. All sites are fairly close to the City Centre and provide residents with easy access to shops, doctors, dentists, libraries and public transport.

A Mobile Warden makes contact with each resident on a daily basis to check on their welfare and deal with any problems which may arise. At night the emergency calls are responded to by a local call centre who can contact the emergency services or doctor if required or call a nominated family member to assist the resident.

Our accommodation is designed to provide convenient and comfortable accommodation for the elderly in a setting which enables residents to come and go as they please. It provides security and peace of mind for both the residents and their families or friends. Regular maintenance work is undertake to ensure that all of the accommodation provided is of an excellent standard.

Each flat is unfurnished but is provided with an electric cooker, fridge, kitchen units and carpeting in the lounge, bedroom and hallway.
